New Points of Entry

New points of entry are an integral component of any construction project, so now in the 21st century, low-flow, water-saving fixtures and options, such as highly durable pipes, have never been in higher demand than right now.

When designing the entry point of a water service line, three essential components should be taken into consideration: the water meter, local or remote reader, and backflow prevention device. While backflow preventers are generally considered only for commercial or industrial applications, residential service lines that use residential properties for commercial activities (i.e., hair salons, dog grooming, or photo processing businesses) could benefit from installing them if used as such; otherwise, homes could become potential sources of contamination under certain circumstances.

Finding new points of entry service providers can prove challenging due to typically lacking signs announcing their existence, making their identification difficult. Implement these new points of entry options (especially low-flow fixtures and options) now to protect the future value of your house and secure its value over time.

Based on the infrastructure of your property, a new building may require excavation to connect your house to city water sources, sewer lines, and/or a tank for the disposal of sewer waste. If you are building at the edge of a subdivision, there may already be connections made for installing entry point systems within that neighbourhood or region.

As your distance from primary waterlines increases, the cost of connecting pipes that provide access to your construction increases. Furthermore, your choice of land can have an effect; areas with rocky or wooded terrain require more effort in clearing before commencing with excavation work.
